OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Medical Teachers Association (MTA) Punjab has expressed concerns over change in criterion for the promotion of postgraduate medics that deprived hundreds of doctors of their rights. In a meeting held here on Sunday with MTA Punjab General Secretary Dr Tahseen Riaz in the chair, the participants said that year of post-graduation and teaching experience have been dropped from the criterion for making merit that deprived hundreds of Senior Registrars of their promotion in the next grade. They alleged that the so-called PMA has changed merit list with the connivance of some health department officials to give undue favour to its President and Vice-President. They urged the Health Secretary to take notice of the change in merit list and take stringent action against the responsible officials. They also appealed the Punjab Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to take action against doctors carrying out media campaign against Secretary Regulations for the amendment of service rules to benefit blue eyed medics.
