KHANEWAL - DCO Rashid Mehmood has changed the inquiry officer of an investigation being carried out into the bribe allegations levelled against TMO Muzaffar Baig. According to detail, a local trader Ikhlaq Ahmad lodged a complaint to the DCO against TMO Muzaffar Baig, alleging that he had received Rs0.45 million as bribe for the issuance of a approved map of his commercial property. He accused that now the TMO was neither issuing approved map nor refunding the money. On his written complaint, DCO Rashid Mehmmood deputed DOC Muhammad Ayub Khan as inquiry officer. But during the inquiry the complainant expressed his dissatisfaction over Ayub Khan for intentionally favouring the TMO and boycotted the inquiry due to lack of confidence. At which, the DCO has appointed Assistant Commissioner Aamir Karim as new inquiry officer who will now conduct the inquiry. Meanwhile, the TMO when was contacted, denied the allegations of bribe and ruled out any such impression.
