MULTAN - The US ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter has said that his country strongly supports Pakistans economic growth and prosperity. He observed this on Sunday while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Lutafabad Mango Processing Line established with the financial assistance of United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He said that the US was strongly committed to creation of employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan. He told the participants that his country supported Pakistani firms to acquire latest technology, besides facilitating them to get access to international markets. Referring to USAIDs mango project, he said that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton last year had pledged American support for developing mango processing facilities for exporting mango from South Punjab and Sindh. The tangible result of this commitment could be seen in terms of advanced scientific mango grading infrastructure, added. He said that the USAID mango projects not only enabled growers to export mango but also created 6,000 jobs, adding that the project was the outcome of a successful US-Pak partnership. He said that he would often say that he always got warm welcome in Pakistan but todays was a special one. He said that he was looking forward to South Punjab trip for a long time. Earlier, the owner of Lutafaba Mango Farm Major Tariq also addressed the gathering. The wife of US ambassador Marilyn Wyatt and Consul General of US Consulate Lahore Carmela Conroy were also present on this occasion. Major Tariq presented souvenirs to the guests.'
