RAHIM YAR KHAN - Students and faculty members of Khawaja Fareed Government Postgraduate College (KFGPGC) staged a protest against the alleged corruption of the college principal here the other day. As per detail, dozens of members of Muttahida Talba Mahaz (MTM) accompanied by the Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) members staged the protest in front of DCO Office Chowk. The protestors also marched from DCO office Chowk to City Pul Chowk and chanted slogans against the alleged corruption of the principal while holding banners and placards. MTM President Rizwan Arif blamed the principal for the destruction of KFGPGC. He urged the higher authorities to suspend the principal and initiate a transparent inquiry to ferret out the corruption he had committed. On the occasion, the MTM President vowed to continue protest across the province if the college students were not included in the inquiry. Secretary of Fareedien Muhammad Imtiaz, a KFGPC student, told that the principals office had become the centre of bribery. He also said that they would disclose the proofs of his corruption soon. Meanwhile, after the protest, PPLA Rahim Yar Khan Vice President Malik Khuda Bakhsh told reporters that their delegation had met DCO and presented him the file of the principals corruption cases. He said that the DCO had assured them of a transparent probe to ascertain the responsibility.
