JHANG - District Coordination Officer Shahid Niaz said that 10 Ramazan bazaars had been set up in the district to provide standard daily use items at low prices to the consumers during the holy month.

He explained that three bazaars had been established in tehsil Jhang, three in tehsil Shorkot and three in tehsil Ahmedpur Sial and one in tehsil Athara Hazari. These bazaar have been established in the populated areas on the demand of consumers. To save consumers from unfair profit the prices of provisions would be watched strictly and immediate action would be taken against the violators, he added.

For this purpose, he maintained, as many as 22 price magistrates had been assigned to check and control prices of provisions and they would be responsible for ensuring provision of quality items to the citizens on subsidized rates.  He further said that rate lists should be prominently displayed in all the shops in these bazaars. He said that quality of fruit, vegatables, meat and poultry products should be maintained through Agricultures and Livestock Departments.

In order to save people’s lives and property, high security arrangements have been made. Complaint cells have also been set up in all bazaars to register the complaints, he said.
