RAWALPINDI  - The Community Training Wing, Rescue 1122, Rawalpindi has started summer camps to benefit the students in public sector colleges of Rawalpindi district.

According to detail, the Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 Training Wings, in all districts of Punjab are conducting three-day community basic life support and fire safety course in colleges upon direction of Director General, Rescue 1122, Dr Rizwan Naseer to sensitise the students about emergency and disaster management.

This programme in Rawalpindi was started in colleges with cooperation of Deputy Director, Colleges, Rana Javed.

The safety orientation training started from Government College (Women) Jhanda Chichi and to date 259 students attended this safety orientation course in eight colleges of Rawalpindi.

The willing students from Government College (Women) Jhanda Chichi, Government College Viqar-un-Nisa, Government College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi, Government College (Women) Zafar-ul-Haq, Government College (Women) Benazir Bhutto Road, Government (Women) College Peshawar Road, Government College (Women) Muslim Town, Government College (Women) B-Block Satellite Town, have been given comprehensive safety orientation training including basic guidelines for Fracture Management, Injury Management, Control of Bleeding, Drowning, Heat Stroke, Shifting of Patient, Fire Prevention, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Evacuation.

Community Training Emergency Officer, Deeba Shahnaz Akhter said that the students have been educated through presentations, lectures and practical exercises. They have been evaluated with written and practical test on third day.

She said Rescue 1122 is running this programme in all colleges of Rawalpindi district since June, which will continue till the end of this month.

She further said Rescue Trainers are continuously imparting this training and training wing expect from college management to motivate maximum students to attend this course for developing professional approach and skills in youth for emergency and disaster management.
