KARACHI - All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Finance Secretary Mansoor Moin has expressed deep concerns over the poor financial condition of the country, saying the economy is on the verge of collapse due to low foreign aid. Talking to a delegation of business community, Mansoor Moin said government lending from Sate Bank shoot up to Rs1200billion while Rs509 have been borrowed from the commercial banks, according to a APML press release issued here Tuesday. He said it has never happened in the country’s history that any government had taken loans in such a huge amount. “It has become difficult for the commercial banks to get new investments and if there is no injection of investment in banks, unemployment will be on the rise posing threats to law and order situation and further increase price hike,” he added. The APML leader said former President Pervez Musharraf is the only leader who can bring the country’s financial and economic condition back on the track. He is the only leader who has political and economic considerations to the gigantic challenges faced by the country, he further said. The business and traders community is looking towards Pervez Musharraf to return homeland as he has already proved that he could bring the foreign investment in the country and improve the economy, he claimed.
