Clerics vow inter-sect harmony

MULTAN - The clerics from all schools of thought agreed on Monday to promote inter-sect harmony for improving law and order situation and thwarting vicious designs of anti-social elements in the holy month of Ramazan.
The convened here in a meeting of District Peace Committee (DPC) that took place with the District Coordination Officer Zahid Akhtar Zaman in the chair. The clerics stressed upon the masses to play their role in keeping the atmosphere peaceful.
Addressing the meeting, the DCO said that the provincial government would use all out resources to maintain law and order.
“What we need is to stand united against all saboteurs and those creating fuss in the name of religion,” he added. He declared that there would be no loadshedding at the time of Sehr and Iftar. He disclosed that steps were being taken on emergency basis to install street lights around all masjids. SSP operations Nafees Gohar also addressed the meeting.
