ISLAMABAD  - Chairman Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi has said that IP rights violation would not be allowed and all possible measures are being taken for capacity building of officials of enforcement agencies.He said FIA, Police, Customs, PEMRA and National Book Foundation are the enforcement partners of IPO and enforcement committees at federal as well as the provinces had been activated to check counterfeiting and piracy. Afridi expressed these views while taking to the representatives of traders.He pointed out that the basic purpose for establishing IPO was to ensure the protection of IP rights in the country. Consultation sessions with all stakeholders are in process to improve the existing laws as well as systematic framework for proper implementation of IP laws in the country.  Chairman while referring the recent meeting with American Council General, said that a working group comprising representatives of investor groups has be formed which will suggest recommendations for protection of  IP rights. The Chairman also informed the delegation that comprehensive awareness campaign about Intellectual Property is being implemented with the cooperation of media  while coordinated programs are also continued with the involvement of small and medium enterprises, research institutions and organizations.
