Kausar for promoting sports activities among youth


PESHAWAR – Lauding the services of Malik Saad Shaheed Memorial Sports Trust for promotion of sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar expressed a desire that the trust should continue it efforts more vigorously and involve maximum youths in sports activities both from Fata and the province.
He was talking while handing over two cheques, amounting to Rs 0.1 million each, to the Malik Saad Shaheed Sports Trust Academy Football teams of Peshawar and Khyber Agency at Governor’s House, Peshawar, which were the winner and runner up respectively of the recently held Shaheed SP Abdul Kalam Memorial Football Tournament in Peshawar.
The tournament held under the auspices of Malik Saad Shaheed Memorial Sports Trust was participated by its district and agency academy teams both from the province and Fata and the Governor had announced the amount while addressing as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.
The coach Faisal and Captain Salman of Peshawar Football team and Asghar and Bilal of Khyber Agency received cheques on behalf of their repetitive teams. The Secretary of the Trust and sports writer Amajd Aziz was also present on this occasion.
The governor appreciated the sportsmanship courage and spirit of both the teams and desired that they should achieve more successes in future as well. The trust, the Governor said, is indeed contributing a lot towards supplementing the efforts of the Government for promotion of games and its services are being well acknowledged amongst the people.
He said, since there was no dearth of talent and therefore, the selection, coaching and promotion of players needs to be continued in an efficient way. He assured to continue patronage to the sports events of the trust in future as well.
