LAHORE – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that loadshedding can be put to an end if the independent power producers (IPPs) are made payments without getting commissions.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Sheikh Rasheed said there were little chances of his joining the PML-N and he would contest the next polls under the AML banner.

Rasheed added that he could make seat adjustment with other political entities including the PTI. The AML chief said he would welcome PTI chairman Imran Khan at his residence on August 13 in a public gathering, which he organised every year.

He also warned Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for removing his banners and claimed that the AML was being forced to block Murree Road or to seek justice from the courts.

He alleged that the US was investigating funding of $ eight million to Hussain Haqqni by Pakistan government. The AML chief remarked that Pakistan was becoming a banana republic in which a new prime minister coming every day.

He termed PPP a heap of garbage while Asif Ali Zardari was presenting this rotten material before the masses. He predicted Musa Gilani and Qadir Gilani would be behind the bars in coming days.

Rasheed claimed that there was not a single leader who organised a long march on the issue of public problems like price hike and corruption. He said PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif should himself probe whether Hanif Abbasi was involved in Ephedrine scam or not.

The AML chief warned that there would be bloody elections if the interim setup was not constituted with consensus.

Rasheed claimed that military and judiciary were defending democracy while those claiming themselves as champion of democracy were using every tactics to derail it.
