LAKKI MARWAT – Police arrested nine outlaws including five gamblers in separate raids on Tuesday.

“Acting on a tip off, a heavy contingent of Naurang circle police force assisted by personnel of Elite Force and ATS launched a search operation in Tap Takhtikhel area, bordering the frontier tribal region,” said an official. He said that the law enforcers destroyed hideouts of criminal gangs and arrested three wanted criminals.

“They were identified as Rahimullah, Nek Salam and Ismaeel and were wanted by Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts police in murder, dacoity and other cases of heinous nature”, he told. He said that police recovered two shotguns, a pistols and good number of bullets from them.

Separately, a police party headed by SHO Asad Ali Shah raided over a gambling den near Abakhel village and arrested five people busy in the ugly practice of playing a bet. The arrested gamblers include Shafiullah, Gul Badshah, Khan Sardar, Naimatullah and Motabar.

Police seized stake money amounting to Rs 30000 and gambling equipment from them and registered a case under relevant section of law.

Another police party of Ghaznikhel police station held a narcotics’ seller identified as Mobeen Khan in Tajazai village. A klashankov rifle, bullets and a small quantity of heroin were recovered from him.
