ISLAMABAD - In response to the defamation notice sent by former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to Imran Khan, the PTI Thursday alleged that the ruling party PML-N had launched the former CJ to target its chairman and the notice would provide an opportunity to expose the nexus between them.
The PTI , which is second major opposition party in the National Assembly, also alleged that it had proofs of former chief justice’s complicity in the rigging and added that the ruling PML-N was unnerved and doing so to derail democracy in the country when its mandate was nearing a complete expose.
PTI Central Information Secretary, Dr Shireen Mazari, said in a statement issued from party’ Central Secretariat, “The PML-N had finally launched its opening batsman in the shape of ex-CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry to target Imran .” She said PTI welcomed this opportunity to expose the nexus between the former CJ  and the ruling party especially over the rigging of the May 2013 elections.
The statement said the PTI had yet to receive the legal notice apparently sent to its chairman, but there was no way PTI and its chairman would back down.
Mazari also said that such tactics by the PML-N and the ex-CJ only bolstered the belief that the ruling party was guilty of stealing the electoral mandate through rigging.
