Pakistan’s security relies on bond with USA: Tariq Fattemi

WASHINGTON- Pakistan has underscored the need for an enduring partnership with the United States which is vital for its regional and international security.

This was stated by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi, while addressing a roundtable discussion on US-Pakistan relations at John Hopkins University in Washington.

Fatemi highlighted that substantial progress had been made in the bilateral relations, especially after the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Washington last year. He declared that the United States appreciated Pakistan's positive role to enable Afghanistan to hold its recent Presidential election in a peaceful manner.

Responding to various questions, he informed Pakistan is willing to play a constructive role to maintain peace in the region.
