ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik Wednesday said that Pakistan would not hand over any Pakistani to any country. Responding to a question regarding the 22-member wanted list sent by India, Rehman Malik told the media persons at the Parliament House that Pakistan would hand over no individual to India. Malik said that there were international obligations however the government will decide if any request is sent by Interpol. About the operation situation in Swat, he said, The operation zone of Malakand and Swat has been cleared of terrorists and the next step of the government forces would be to stop the Taliban regroup, he stated. The minister said that Pakistan had made it clear to the international community that the world must recognise Pakistan and must deal with it at par with India. The minister said that President Zardari had conducted foreign tours and had got $ 290 million. This amount would be spent to equip our armed forces, he said adding that soon the manual security system of vehicles would come to an end and modern scanners would be installed to screen explosives, drugs and other materials. Malik said that each Kalashinkove and every bullet was being provided to Taliban from Afghanistan and the government had raised the issue with Afghan government at every available forum. The terrorists who used to impose their brand of Islam on Pakistani civilians have fled Swat after having shaved their beards and now they are on the run. We will not let them stay anywhere and would track them down, he added. Malik said that the government would continue its operation against terrorists till the last Talib was tracked down by the forces. He said that at present day, each and every Pakistani citizen was saying 'No to Taliban. We would have to think who is providing these Taliban huge vehicles, infrastructure, ammunition, FM Radio Stations, and dollars, he said adding that the fanatics had broken the hearts of so many mothers for pursuing teen aged youngsters for suicide bombings. The minister reprimanded that the government would deal with any group or individual who would challenge the state writ. Rehman Malik said even President Asif Zardari had raised the issue of assistance to Taliban from across Pak-Afghan border with President Karzai. We also raised the issue of border crossing and Narcotics smuggling. We also proposed monitoring system on border and intelligence sharing as there is a possibility that some non-state actors are involved in these affairs. We have also urged the international community to help and expose such elements as our youth is being made drug addicted, he added. He said the Kalashinkove culture had brought misery to our economic condition. He said some families had returned to their homes in Buner. We would not allow balkanisation of the country and all the fanatic elements involved in target killings would be dealt with in real manner. Some elements are involved in target killing of Hazara and Punjabi settlers in Balochistan and the government would take them to task, he remarked. He said the federal authorities had nabbed two suicide bombers who wanted to blow up Parliament building and Elite Force headquarters. On the murder of Commander of Abdullah Mehsud group Qari Zainuddin, the minister said that the investigation was underway and all the aspects would be kept open in the investigation. Regarding the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Waziristan, the minister said that the Waziristan IDPs would also be provided all facilities. I have information that around 60,000 IDPs have been shifted from North and South Waziristan to their friends homes. I have asked the Chairman Nadra to register these IDPs as well, he concluded.
