MIRPUR (AJK) - Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, who was serving as acting Chief Justice of the AJK Supreme Court, has been appointed as permanent Chief Justice, says an official notification. In exercise of all power conferred by Section 42 (4) of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Interim Constitution (Act 1974), the president, on the advice of the AJK Council, is pleased to appoint Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, Acting Chief Justice, as Chief Justice of AJK, the official notification issued by Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department of AJK government in Muzaffarabad said, adding, This notification will take effect on and from the date and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan takes the oath of his office himself. Justice Azam Khan was performing the duties of the acting Chief justice of the Supreme Court of AJK and earlier as permanent judge of the apex court. He had replaced Justice Khawaja Shahaad Ahmed, who was retired on May 15.
