Asma concerned over recovery of decomposed bodies

QUETTA  - Former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Asma Jahangir has expressed serious concern over the extra-judicial killings and recovery of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch youth.
Addressing Balochistan Bar Association here on Monday, Asma Jhangir who is leading the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) high-level fact finding mission to Balochistan said that the series of recovery of decomposed bodies was continuing which was a negative step.
“This is the right time to decide if political leadership would run the country or military since the country cannot be run through gun,” she remarked, adding, that the promotion of democracy was in the best interest of the country’s stability.
She said that it had been proved in recent general elections that the people were supporters of democracy ,therefore, despite all difficulties they took part in the polls brushing aside all challenges.
She said that Baloch were patriotic as much as other nationalities in the country so steps should be taken on priority basis to address their reservations.
“Giving chance to nationalists to form government in Balochistan is indeed a welcome move,” she added.
