Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan Emilian Ion called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Monday.  Matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting.   Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the PML-N government is taking quick and solid measures to cope with the energy crisis facing the country.

He said that planning has been made for generation of energy from conventional and non-conventional sources to resolve the problem of the people and to meet the demand of the industrial sector. He said that Romania has expertise in energy and infrastructure sector and its cooperation is needed for launching power generation projects in Pakistan. He said that several Romanian companies are famous for generation of power from coal.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan has vast potential of generation of power from coal and it wants to benefit from the experiences of Romania in this field. The Chief Minister also appreciated the role of Romanian Ambassador in the promotion of relations between Pakistan and Romania.

Romanian Ambassador Emilian Ion assured full cooperation to Pakistan especially Punjab in various sectors. He expressed the hope that Pak-Romania relations would further improve with the setting up of new democratic government in Pakistan.
