LAHORE - Three people including a baby girl were killed in different road mishaps in the city, police said on Monday.

A motorcyclist man along with his sister and niece was on his way home when a rashly-driven wagon smashed into their two-wheeler in the Factory Area police limits. As a result, all the three bike riders sustained multiple injuries and were rushed to a hospital, where three-year-old girl, identified as Zainab, succumbed to injuries. The condition of her mother and uncle was stated to be critical. The police handed over the body to family after completing legal formalities. A case has been registered cases against the driver, who managed to escape from the crime scene. The police have impounded the vehicle and are investigating.

In another incident, a man, identified as Shabbir Jan, said to be an employee of a sensitive agency, was waiting for transport at a bus stop when an auto-rickshaw hit from the rear side in the North Cantonment police limits. He received multiple injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he expired later. The police have impounded the rickshaw and are investigating. 

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man identified as Arif was killed when a passenger bus ran over him in the Manawan police limits. Eyewitnesses told the police that the deceased was crossing the GT Road when the bus ran over him.
