HAFIZABAD
The police have so far failed to trace Malik Pir Muhammad who was kidnapped on June 11 near General Bus Stand Hafizabad.
The abductee is uncle of SDO Muhammad mran. On the report of Mohsin, the police had registered a case but failed to get any clue of the whereabouts of Pir Muhammad (60). The abductee had returned from Gujranwala on June 11 and intimated his family that he had reached the General Bus Stand wherefrom he was kidnapped presumably to get ransom. The dependants of the abductee have called upon DPO, RPO and IG police to ensure an early recovery of Malik Pir Muhammad.
RAIN: Hafizabad received rain for the second consecutive day bringing relief to the hot weather-stricken people. On Tuesday, it rained heavily but it was raining intermittently on Wednesday since morning. The sky was still overcast holding out the possibility of more rain. The paddy growers welcomed the timely rains which, they said, would be very helpful in the sapling of paddy. The loadshedding duration has also been decreased which has been welcomed by the people.
TEENAGER DROWNS: A teenager drowned while swimming in a fish farm located in village Kot Hara.
The Rescuers have fished out the body after an hour. According to rescue source, Ali Murtaza, an eleven-year-old shepherd, jumped into the fish farm to beat the heat but was drowned.
