LAHORE: A suspect of defrauding public by issuing bogus cheques escaped custody of Federal Investigation Agency’s officials after the Lahore High Court dismissed his bail application on Wednesday.

Assistant Director FIA Aftab Butt told the judge that accused Faiz Ahmad was involved in fleecing general public and looting money. After his arguments, the judge dismissed the bail application.

The lawyers of the suspect, however, asked the officials to come to bar area and remove handcuffs of their client. As the both sides were busy in heated arguments, the suspect started replying to media queries alleging Assistant Director Aftab Butt for personal grudge after he contracted marriage with his niece. He alleged that FIA officials fabricated a case against him and he was not involved in defaulting public.–Staff Reporter

Meanwhile, the mother of the suspect also attacked agency’s officials and made them to be defensive. The officials left the scene and the suspect also ran away freely with handcuffs.
