KARACHI: Saleem Chanda, a friend of late Amjad Sabri and an eyewitness in the murder case of the Sufi singer, has been taken into police custody for interrogation.

Police said that Saleem Chanda is an eyewitness in the murder case of Amjad Sabri and for that reason his face was covered to hide his identity.

It may be noted that Amjad Sabri was gunned down in Liaquatabad area on Wednesday in a targeted attack on his car by armed motorcyclists.

He was heading to a studio in Korangi to attend Ramzan transmission when he was sprayed with bullets by masked assailants.

The hitmen spared Saleem Chanda, who was sitting next to Sabri in the vehicle.
