An election tribunal on Monday reserves its decision on the appeal against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi nomination papers for NA-57.

Shahid Khaqan is contesting upcoming general elections on PML-N ticket from his home constituency of NA-57 Muree.

Lahore High court Justice Abdul Rehman Lodhi was conducting the hearing of the case.

Abbasi ’s legal counsel informed the tribunal that Shahid Khaqan had declared all his assets in the nomination papers he also mentioned his shares in an airline in the documents.

After hearing the arguments the tribunal reserved its verdict.

Petitioner Masood Ahmad Abbasi challenged the nomination papers of former prime minister accusing him of extracting money from the national depository.

He accused Abbasi of taking RS 1 billion from national reserve and gave it to his son to perform Umrah.

Masood Abbas also alleged that Shahid Khaqan did not present the correct detail of his assets.
