ISLAMABAD Central leadership of the PML-N and ANP is meeting today (Thursday) to evolve their respective strategies in tackling the crucial issue of new nomenclature for the NWFP, sources said on Wednesday. Apart from deliberating the constitutional reforms package, both the parties would discuss the issue of renaming NWFP, sources in the PML-N and ANP informed TheNa-tion. ANP President Asfan-dyar Wali has summoned an emergency meeting of the party leadership to devise strategy with regard to his upcoming meeting with Quaid of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Mian Nawaz Sharif over new nomenclature for the NWFP. While Nawaz Sharif has also summoned his partys Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting on the same day to concretise agenda for his meeting with ANP Chief. Sources said that the PML-N would disus at length the issue of new name of the NWFP. The issue of renaming NWFP has assumed extraordinary importance after the ANP had threatened to block the proposed 18th amendment draft bill if the government did not include issue of renaming the Frontier province in the bill. Both the parties had locked horns to protect their political interest and had proposed three different names each but so far failed in resolving the stand off. Now both the parties had left the issue to their central leaders to resolve the crucial issue that can create serious problems in passage of the proposed 18th amendment.
