LAHORE Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan has condemned Pakistani delegations offer to the US to operate against Afghan Taliban. In a statement issued here Wednesday, he said the US was an invader in Afghanistan and the Afghan nation had the right under the UN charter to struggle for independence. Syed Munawar Hassan said the Pakistan delegation should explain to Washington that US occupation of Muslims lands and denying them their lawful rights was bound to have reaction. It was a pity, he said, that the Pakistan Foreign Minister and the Army Chief had on their own offered to operate against the Afghan Taliban instead of demanding withdrawal of NATO troops. Pakistan, he said, had already paid a heavy price for acting as a frontline state in the US war on terror and such an offer would further aggravate the situation. He said the offer had been made at a time when despite Islamabads every effort, the US Secretary of State and the CIA were not prepared to trust this country. The US lack of trust on Pakistan was a slap on the face of the rulers, he added.
