KARACHI Karachi Yellows moved to the final of National Seniors Cricket Cup Southern Zone final beating Karachi Greens by eight wickets here at the UBL Sports Complex on Pakistan Day. Karachi Greens won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 205 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 25 overs. Muhammad Nasir and Khaliqullah were the top-scorers with 47 runs each in 27 and 25 balls respectively. Imtiaz Safdar scored 24 runs in 25 balls and Ashraf Pakhali 21 runs in 25 balls. For Karachi Yellows, Jawad Ali took two wickets for 28 runs and Tanvir Ali, Shakir Ahmed, Khalid Butt and Zahid Ahmed took one wicket each for 18, 18, 25 and 41 runs respectively. Karachi Yellows reached the winning target of 208 runs for the loss of only three wickets (12 a side Match) in 22.5 overs. Shujaat Ali was top scorer with 67 runs scored in only 39 balls with four sixes and six fours. Saeed Azad scored 47 not out in 43 balls with one six and three fours and Baber Basharat scored 46 runs in 33 balls with one six and four fours. For Karachi Greens, Muhammad Nasir took two wickets for 30 runs and Farid Hassan one wicket for 43 runs. Shujaat Ali of Karachi Yellows was awarded the man of the match award for his fine innings by the chief guest Nadeem Omer.
