KARACHI – Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed said that quackery is a big challenge, adding, until the issuance of fake practicing certificates is stopped the practice of quack dentistry could not be culminated altogether which is major source of spreading fatal diseases, says a release.
He said this while addressing an inaugural session of three-day 10th International and 30th National Dental Congress organised by the Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) here at the Expo Centre. The theme of the congress, supported by Unilever’s new dental brand Pepsodent, is ‘A New Dental Era.’
More than 3,000 local and foreign delegates are expected to visit the congress. There are more than 80 speakers in total and the trade with more than 180 stalls will be the largest of its type among all the dental events held in Pakistan.
Later talking to journalists, he apprised that the devolution of health sector was not carried out according to its true sprit that was why many projects were in doldrums.
“I visited different clinics run by quack dentists at Empress Market, where they showed me the PMDC certificates which they obtained by greasing palms”, he informed the audience. .
The Sindh health department has taken up various health issues and got them resolved on priority basis.
