Dental college passouts get certificates at convocation



KARACHI  – Fatima Jinnah Dental College organised its 16th convocation and 20th anniversary at a hotel here.
Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan was the chief guest of the event, said a statement issued here on Sunday.
Karachi University vice chancellor Dr Muhammad Qaiser, FJDC Chief Executive Dr S Baqar Askary, Director Dr S Hussain Askary, Principal Prof Dr Tasleem Hussain and Karachi University Dean Dr S M Abbas Hussain were also present on the occasion.
In his keynote address, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan lauded the graduates and their parents. He further said that Pakistan’s future could not be an illiterate and unhealthy populace.
Addressing the occasion, Dr Muhammad Qaiser praised the efforts undertaken by private sector for promotion of professional instruction. He appreciated the efforts undertaken by both FJDC and the graduates in their pursuit of professional knowledge.
Dr Tasleem also greeted the graduates and urged them to maintain the high standards imbibed to them by their teachers at the University. He expressed admiration for the efforts of the faculty members of FJDC in instilling fine values and quality academic instruction to the scholars. He also expressed pride in highlighting the fact that in its 20 years of existence, the faculty has held over 50 academic council meetings.
Dr Ammar Hussain was declared valedictorian at the ceremony. Along with a cash prize, this top scholar was also awarded 8 gold medals.
Total 16 gold medals, 12 shields and 114 certificates were awarded in the ceremony. A total of 75 scholars graduated with their degree in Bachelors of Dentistry.
