Hearing of petition on elimination of VIP culture adjourned

Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned hearing till March 27 of the petition filed by Hafiz Saeed seeking elimination of VIP culture from the country.
Justice Ejaz ul Hassan took up the case for hearing Monday. The court sought more arguments on the maintainability of the writ.
Counsel for Hafiz Saeed argued during the hearing that VIP culture in place in the country runs contrary to the Islamic teachings and the constitution. VIP culture is giving rise to sense of deprivation among the citizens and it is encroachment upon the fundamental rights, he contended.
He said exploitation and coercion couldn’t be uprooted unless VIP culture is eliminated. He prayed the court to order for elimination of VIP culture from the country.
The court directed the petitioner to apprise it of the earlier judicial decisions in support of maintainability of the writ and elimination of VIP culture.
