KARAK - Six people, including two women and three children, were killed and eight other seriously injured in different rain-related incidents in Karak.

Police sources informed on Sunday that late Saturday night in Tabbikhwa area of Karak, a room was collapsed due to heavy rain in the house of Ghulam Mustafa, which claimed five lives. 

The local people started rescue activities soon after the incident and removed the debris.

Eyewitness said that Ghulam Mustafa, his wife Awal Saeeda died on the spot and three children critically injured in the incident namely Murtaza son of Ghulam Mustafa, Umer Fayaz son of Umer Ayaz and Abid Nawaz son of Noor Nawaz succumbed to their injuries in the District Headquarters Hospital.

The injured are identified as Sameena wife of Noor Nawaz, Gul Naz wife of Umer Ayaz, Sabar Jamala wife of Abid Kareem, Zuhra daughter of Ghulam Murtaza and Hassan son of Mustafa were admitted in the hospital and the doctors stated their condition to be stable.

In the second incident a young lady daughter of Yahaya Khan, resident of Hoti Banda of Tehsil Banda Daud Shah was seriously injured when a roof of a room caved in due to rain and she was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Banda Daud Shah where she died in the hospital.

The sources informed that in Amankot area of the same Tehsil, roof of a room collapsed and two young siblings identified as Sanaullah (4) and Rabia (3) sons of Tekka Khan came under the rubbles and they were retrieved from the debris in serious condition.

They were shifted to civil hospital Teri and later the doctors referred them to Kohat in critical condition.
