ISLAMABAD - SAA and Brass Mills won the final match of the volleyball event in the 45th POF Inter-factories Sports Competition after defeating AA Factory 3-0 here at the POF Sports Complex on Sunday.

The event was held under the auspices of POF Sports Control Board. Liaqat Ali Khan of SAA and Brass Mills was declared man of the tournament while Yasir Rahman was man of the match. POF Board chairman Lt Gen M Ahsan Mahmood HI (M) gave away trophies and prizes to the winners.

Speaking at the occasion, the POF Board chairman said: “Sports competitions teach discipline and help in building the character of youth and encourage them to meet the challenges of future.” Earlier, the POF Board chairman inaugurated fitness center equipped with latest facilities and synthetic court of volleyball.

In the concluding ceremony, POF Sports Control Board president M Rizwan in his welcoming remarks thanked the POF Board chairman for taking keen interest in the sporting activities and up-gradation of sports facilities. POF Sports Control Board vice president Col (retd) Inam Ullah Khan presented the tournament report and said the sports gala continued for the last two months in which more than 1500 players participated.
