LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said that Zardari gang has filled its pockets with the money looted from the poor and brought the country to the verge of bankruptcy.

He was addressing separate meetings of leaders and office-bearers of Pakistan Muslim League-N belonging to Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib and Lahore districts.

The CM said that the worst policy of loot and plunder of national resources had destroyed national institutions. He said that the former government of Peoples Party and its cronies had given the ‘gifts’ of poverty, unemployment and loadshedding to the masses which they would never be able to forget. He said that the day of accountability of corrupt kings was here and the people would punish them in the upcoming general elections in a way that no one would dare to loot national exchequer in future.

He said that if masses, through their votes, gave opportunity to Pakistan Muslim League-N, corruption would be eliminated and economic stability of the country shall be ensured.

The CM said that if “Baray Khan Sahib” who is raising the slogan of change saw the development in Punjab during last five years, he would know the true meaning of revolution and change. He said that ten crore people of the Punjab were the witness to the fact that PML-N government had brought about a visible change in their life and their living standard has improved. He said that those raising empty slogans of revolution and change should know that Punjab had changed due to rapid and quality completion of development projects on the basis of merit and transparency. He said that if the people gave opportunity, a genuine change would be brought about throughout the country under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and supremacy of merit, law and justice would be ensured. He said that corruption and poverty would be eradicated and equal opportunities shall be given to everyone. He said that Punjab government presented a three mega projects worth 36 billion rupees including metro bus project to Transparency International Pakistan for judging their transparency which when asked “Khan Sahib” for proof of his allegations, made him speechless and his propaganda about metro bus project also ended. He said that a party which had among its office-bearers such elements as members of Qabza mafia and have murder cases registered against them had no right to talk about change or revolution. He said that people want to know what kind of change can be introduced with such elements.

The CM said that corruption mafia had tremendously increased the problems of the masses during its five years rule and the loot and plunder of Zardari gang had spread darkness and despondency throughout the country.

He said that the gulf between the rich and the poor had widened and the life of people is more miserable now. He said that it had become extremely difficult for the poor to make both ends meet.

He said that PML-N considers power and politics as a means of service to the people and that was why it had set new records of public service. He said that the country needs a bold and kindhearted leader which could steer the country out of crises and put it on the road to progress and development. He said that Nawaz Sharif who made Pakistan a nuclear power and ensured its economic stability was the only leader capable to solve all the problems being faced by the country.

He said that if people made the right decision in the general elections and brought a sincere leadership into power the nation would get rid of all its problems. He said that Punjab government of PML-N had spent record funds on the projects of provision of health, education and other basic facilities and if it was given opportunity to serve the masses, revolutionary and welfare programmes like metro bus, Daanish School and self-employment scheme would be started all over the country.
