PML-N MNA Qaisar Ahmad Sheikh has criticised the party leadership for ignoring the business community and elected representatives in the preparation for the next upcoming budget.

Addressing the Pakistan Day ceremony at TMA Hall here, he said that revival of economy was at top of the government agenda for which annual budget played a key role, but neither the MNAs nor the business community had been taken onboard in the run-up to the budget.

He blamed that the upcoming budget was being made by bureaucrats and it was time for the business community to take steps as bureaucracy was continuously misguiding the government for its own interests. He criticised the provincial and federal governments for not giving enough uplift funds for Chinioit district instead the funds were being diverted to Lahore and Metro-Bus Islamabad. He said that Chiniot-Faisalabad Highway was to be doubled but no funds were allocated.

Despite the Punjab CM promise, the uplift funds for DHQ Hospital was not kept in budget while only four MOs were working in DHQ Hospital against sanctioned capacity of 17 MOs.  He said that according to FBR taxpayers directory, 15 out of 50 taxpayers belonged to Chinioit, but despite heavy tax payment, the district had been ignored in uplift funds.

He demanded equal distribution of resources among all regions according to teachings of Quaid-e-Azam.

MPA Maulana Ilyas Chinioiti, DCO Dr Irshad Ahmad and DPO Munir Zia also addressed the ceremony.
