LAHORE - Adviser to CM on Health Kh Salman Rafiq on Monday said that the government was collaborating with private sector to devise a strategy for controlling diseases. He was speaking at the inaugural session of a 5-day workshop on ‘Diarrhea Prevention and Control’ arranged by Save the Children Pakistan in collaboration with Policy and Strategic Planning Unit and Government of Punjab.
The participants discussed child survival challenges in Pakistan with special focus on Save the Children Pakistan’s upcoming initiative of a ‘Signature Program’ titled ‘Diarrhoea Prevention & Control’ to be implemented in Lahore and Gujranwala. Diarrhoea is responsible for 26,000 deaths under 5 annually. It has become second largest killer disease for children under 5, it was highlighted on the occasion.
