Terrorist involved in Peshawar blast killed in operation

peshawar   -   Security officials on Thursday claimed to have shot dead a terrorist involved in the Koocha Risaldar blast during an encounter lasting for two hours in Urmarh area in the outskirts of Peshawar.


More than 57 people had been martyred and over 190 injured in the suicide bombing on March 4. The operation was conducted jointly by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), spy agencies and local police following a tip-off about presence of Danyal, Hassan Shah and Khalid in a house in Urmarh area.


A CTD official said Danyal, one of the terrorist gang members, was shot dead during the encounter while other terrorists escaped. However, a search operation was underway in the area till filing of this report. The official said that Daniyal was also wanted in assassination of Christian priest William Siraj, a Sikh leader Satnam Singh, and ASIs Imtiaz Khan and Nauman Khan and other cops, in addition to an attack on police van in Jalozai area of Nowshera district.
