PESHAWAR - Three persons including two police official were killed and three other injured as a result of two bomb explosions in Peshawar and Bara, Khyber Agency on Saturday. The unknown terrorists had planted a high intensity Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) on the Nasar Bagh Road, the outskirts of Peshawar. The remote-control bomb was exploded with a big bang, destroying a police mobile pick-up, passing through the road. As a result SHO Khaista Rehman and driver were killed on the spot whereas two police personnel identified as Mohammad Alam and Aftab Khan were sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to local hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical. Another remote-control bomb exploded near Dogra hospital in Bara Khyber Agency. One person was killed on the spot and another sustained injuries. The injured was admitted to KTH Hospital. So far no group has accepted responsibility for these explosions. It merits a mention here that Bara and Jamrud region of Khyber Agency and its adjacent areas, Hayatabad, Nasar Bagh and Pishtakhara regions are tense for the last several months due to increasing influence of a religious group, Lashkar Islam, and its hostilities with other groups.
