ISLAMABAD - Speakers at a seminar held here on Saturday called for independence of judiciary and stressed the government for immediate reinstatement of all the deposed judges. The seminar titled, "Independence of Judiciary: Agenda for new government", was addressed by Akram Sheikh, senior advocate of Supreme Court, Senator Prof Khurshid and Khalid Rehman, Director General, Institute of Policy Studies (IPS). Akram Sheikh, while addressing the seminar, urged the government to formulate its agenda according to the Constitution. He also demanded of the government to immediately restore all the deposed judges so that a message might be sent to the culprits of the Constitution that government was keen to restore the rule of law. The veteran lawyer said that Musharraf was a big hurdle in way of establishing rule of law in the country and called for his immediate ouster and punishment as per the Constitution of the country.
