PESHAWAR (APP) - The gold prices hit the record high in the provincial capital as the rate of per tola gold touch the figure of Rs39, 000 on Tuesday. The market sources said that the upward trend may continue in the days to come as the prices of gold are still rising in the international markets. According to the Sarraf Association, the yellow metal jumped to Rs39, 000 per tola from Rs37, 000 and would raise more in the coming days. It is pertinent to mention here that the marriage season is on these days and gold jewellery as per the eastern tradition is a necessary item in the weddings. However, the sale of the metal is affected due to the soaring prices as majority of the people can not afford to buy it. Meanwhile, in Karachi, gold surged by Rs 86 to hit record at 32,271 per 10 grams in local bullion market Tuesday, market sources said. A leading bullion dealer said that tola (11.664 grams) price also increased by Rs 100 to another high at Rs 37,650. Silver jumped to all time high of Rs 488.57 per 10 grams.
