LAHORE The PPP-led government may include former president Pervez Musharraf in investigation of Mohtarma Benazir Bhuttos murder case, but will not go to the extent of seeking his deportation through Interpol. He is former president of Pakistan, and it will not be appropriate to bring him back though Interpol, said PPP Central Secretary Information Fauzia Wahab while talking to The Nation on Wednesday. Clarifying her partys position regarding Musharrafs role in the assassination of former prime minister, she said that Pervez Musharraf was at the helms of affairs when BBs murder took place; and for that reason he may be included in the investigation if interior ministry deemed it necessary. Fauzia disowned a statement made by PPP legislator Faiza Malik the other day that PPP government will bring Musharraf back through Interpol, saying that a former president cannot be treated like that. If we want respect for our partys president just because he is president of Pakistan, we should also show respect to a former holder of this office, she remarked. Quoting an earlier statement of party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that democracy was the biggest revenge, PPP spokesperson said that her party did not believe in taking revenge of its leaders assassination. She said PPP was following policy of reconciliation since coming into power and never resorted to vindictiveness at any stage.
