LAHORE Pakistan thrashed India in the semi-final of the squash team event of the 16th Asian Games by 2-0 on Wednesday at Asian Games Town Gymnasium, Guangzhou, China. In the first match, Farhan Mehboob of Pakistan beat Siddharth Nimesh of India in closely fought match by 3-1 that lasted 83 minutes. Farhan Mehboob won the first set by 16-14. Siddharth equalised by winning second set 10-12. Farhan recovered quickly and hit back with two consecutive sets win by 11-9 and 11-5. Amir Atlas defeated Saurav Ghosal 3-1 by winning all but the second set in 52 minutes. Amir beat his counterpart in first set by 15-13 but lost second set by 5-11. Striking hard, Aamir overwhelmed Saurave in third and final sets 11-5, 11-6. Aamir has already won the silver medal for in the mens individual squash event. Pakistan face Malaysia in the final of the squash team event. Meanwhile, Pakistan qualified for the semi-final of Kabbadi. Pakistan outplayed Bangladesh by 36-15 in Mens Group B Match at Nansha Gymnasium, Guangzhou. Pakistan will play semi-final against Iran today.
