KARACHI - Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that nation hates drone hits and the people staging protest against the UAV attacks are helping the government.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Muslim League House Karsaz Karachi on Sunday. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh leaders including Saleem Zia, Ali Akber Gujjar, Nihal Hashmi, Zain Ansari, Irfan Ullah Marwat, Dr Muzafar, Shah Mir, Rana Ehsan, Haji Chan Zaib, Ghulam Mustafa, Arif Kiyani and others were also present on the occasion.
He said credit went to the PML-N federal government for trying a dictator as the former rulers ignored this issue. He said PML-N government would not let Musharraf escape so easily after violating the constitution of Pakistan.
Talking about closure of Nato supplies, he said Imran was helping the government by staging protest against drone strike.
To a question about MQM chief, he termed Altaf’s statement worthless. However to another query about Sindh governor’s change, Saad said being in government, it was not easy to fulfill all the desires, PML-N wanted to maintain law and order in Karachi without creating hurdles.
“Federal government does not want to create hurdles for the Sindh government and has given the powers to provincial government to settle Karachi law and order issue,” he added.
The federal minister said that government had formulated a comprehensive policy for revival of Pakistan Railways and about 40 railway engines will soon be put in operation.
Saad said 645 railway engines had been out of order and when he took charge as railway minister only 165 engines were in operation but now about 215 engines were in operation.

On the occasion, minister railways directed the authorities to remove encroachments from the railway land and revival of the railway stadium. Jamaat-e-Islami on Sunday led a huge rally against drone strikes in Karachi.
