ISLAMABAD - Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly and Chairman PAC Khursheed Ahmed Shah Thursday wrote a letter to Chairman Parliamentary Committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed to brief Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the CPEC.
“Mushahid Hussain Sayed is asked to brief the committee on December 7 as the CPEC is an important mega project with global implications,” says the letter written by opposition leader.
He said there are no two opinions that it will prove as a game changer for not only the people of Balochistan but the entire region. "It is a manifestation of strong bilateral Pak, China relationships and if successful, will be our victory on socio-economic and diplomatic front," it added. It is true that projects of such magnitude bring heavy responsibilities and run huge risks which require all stakeholders to be on the same page.
Khursheed Shah, around a year before, had also written a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and apprised him of the reservations on alleged change in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route. In his letter, Khursheed Shah said: "Sindh is being deliberately neglected in the CPEC project which will increase anger among other provinces against Punjab."
