KARACHI -  Chairman DMC- East, Moeed Anwar has said that welfare organizations have played major role in progress and

development of metropolis.

He expressed these views while meeting a delegation of Rotary Club of Karachi, according to a statement issued here on Thursday.

Vice Chairman Abdul Rauf Khan and other concerned officials were also present during the meeting.

District Governor of Rotary Club, Muhammad Saleem Rao on the occasion assured full cooperation to Chairman DMC-East on behalf of Rotary Club.

He said that condition of district has improved due to new municipal leadership.

Chairman Mooed Anwar said `There is lack of funds but we are committed to resolve issues of public, with all available resources.

Town Committee

chairman passes away

The newly-elected chairman of Town Committee, Digri, Mir Ali Ahmed Talpur passed away here on Thursday after a protracted illness.

The deceased was brother of MPA Haji Mir Hayat Talpur and had been recently elected (unopposed) as chairman Town Committee Digri.

MNAs, MPA's belonging to Pakistan People's Party and a large number of people attended his funeral prayers.

He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.

Commissioner DMC West

for using all resources

for cleanliness

Municipal Commissioner, DMC-West Ashfaq Ahmed Mallah has directed the officials concerned to utilize all available resources for cleanliness in district West.

He issued these directions while inspecting ongoing cleanliness work in different areas, said a statement issued here on Thursday.

Ashfaq Ahmed Mallah asked the officials to ensure availability of machinery for lifting of garbage and presence of staff in every union council.

He also ordered the officials to take measures for removal of encroachments.
