ACCA Careers Job Board launched

LAHORE (PR): ACCA Pakistan has launched the ACCA Careers Job Board in Islamabad to support employers by giving access to highly skilled pool of qualified accountants. The ACCA Careers Job Board is an official recruitment portal and is unique as it's the only truly international job board that allows employers to recruit from across our global network, and allows stakeholders to apply for roles worldwide through one secure site.

Since April 2017, there have been well over one million jobs posted on ACCA Careers Job Board; that's one job posted every 16 seconds. So far there have been 1.5 million jobs included on the site.

The launch event in Islamabad included employers endorsing ACCA as a qualification of choice. The panel discussion around future skills included speakers like Amna Tahir, Head of Internal Audit, Telenor Pakistan, Nadeem A Malik, Cloud Lead Pakistan, IBM, Yasser Qayyum, Senior Advisor, Career Pakistan and M Masood Imran, Director HRM, Auditor General Pakistan. The moderator for the event was Ayla Majid, ACCA Council Member.

ISLAMABAD (PR): Serena Hotels is participating in Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM), in Expo Center, Karachi from 24th-26th November. Pakistan Travel Mart is a travel and tourism expo that connects all stakeholders of mobility in Pakistan including travel, tourism and hospitality.

Through this platform, Serena Hotels aims to promote tourism industry of Pakistan. Pakistan has tremendous tourism industry potential, and through proper recognition and infrastructure, it can help in creating a positive image of Pakistan.

CEO Serena Hotels Aziz Boolani shared his views on Pakistan Travel Mart and said, “It is a great initiative, and brings all stakeholders on one platform. It allows us to showcase our current resources and allows us to promote growth of the entire tourism industry.”

He added, “Pakistan has great potential. Tourism contributes a substantial percentage of the GDP and we need to focus on it. It’s not only government’s responsibility, but ours as well as corporate bodies and individuals to demonstrate that Pakistan is amongst the best places to visit”.

Serena Hotels is located at stall A31 in Hall-1, where it will exhibit the services offered in all Serena properties from 24th -26th November. LAHORE (PR): Men and boys from across Pakistan are taking a unified stand to become part of the solution to prevent and end violence against women and girls. In a unique event, thousands of men and boys from 70+ districts across the country poured out into the streets in solidarity with women and girls and called for an end to crimes of violence against women and girls.

Males from all provinces and regions were mobilized by the White Ribbon Pakistan in collaboration with UN Women Pakistan, National Commission on the Status of Women and Ministry of Human Rights. Congregating outside the local press clubs, male participants vowed to “leave no woman or girl behind” by prioritizing their dignity and calling for their protection and prevention against violence. In doing so, they pledged to make their districts ‘violence-free zones’ for all women and girls’.

Leading the nationwide men’s mobilization; a main event was organized by White Ribbon in collaboration with other partners in Islamabad in a local hotel.

 SKMCH&RC Peshawar starts new service

LAHORE (PR): Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Peshawar has started offering an “Intervention head and neck pain management service” for its patients. Previously, patients had to travel to the Lahore Centre to avail this service. However, now they can take advantage of this service in the Peshawar Centre. This service will provide various procedures, including but not limited to, nerve blocks using local anesthetics, corticosteroids, botulinum toxin, and peripheral neurolysis procedures using phenol and alcohol, in an out-patient setting. Initially, this service will be available for hospital patients only, and will take place once a month.

However, SKMCH&RC plans to extend this service twice in a month and accessible for non-cancer patients as well.

LAHORE (PR): THE EDUCATORS- North conducted 14th Regional Speeches and Debates Contest 2017-18 the other day where students from the Northern Region participated. Event was rich with colourful performances from different campuses. Nassir Kasuri, Executive Director North, Beaconhouse School System graced the occasion as chief guest. Guest speaker Dr Zhang Dao Jain, Vice President, Confucius Institute Islamabad appreciated the thought behind the event.
