According to a recent report in Time magazine, the US Vice President Mr. Joe Biden, upon being asked the question about the amount being spent annually in Afghanistan and Pakistan, gave a figure of US$ 65 billion for Afghanistan and only about US$ 2.25 billion for Pakistan. He said the ratio was 1:30 between the two. No wonder there has been such a lot of clamour on Kerry-Lugar Bill in Pakistan. The Pakistani media, though, has failed to mention the 1:30 ratio. We should thank US Vice President for mentioning the gross disparity that amounts to virtual peanuts for Pakistan. See how cheaply our rulers have sold us out. -DR.
