KARACHI - As many as dozen suspects were arrested in targeted operations conducted in various parts of the city by security agencies on Monday.

A paramilitary force arrested three alleged criminals, including members of a political party.

“Rangers conducted targeted raids in Landhi and Baghdadi areas,” said Rangers spokesperson, who added that during the raids, three criminals were arrested, including two affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement, and one from Lyari gang.

The spokesperson also claimed to have recovered weapons and ammunitions from their possession.

Separately, one more suspect was claimed to have been arrested during snap checking in Gulshan-e-Iqbal along with weapons.

The suspects were shifted to undisclosed location for further questioning.

In another operation, carried out by police in Lyari, two more alleged gangsters were picked up while weapons were also recovered from their possession. Meanwhile, security agencies picked up at least seven members of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) in raids conducted at Country Tower, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Mamar Sector and shifted them to undisclosed location for interrogation.

Sources privy to the raids disclosed the names of those arrested as Joint Sector In-charge of PSP Sehraz, Qadeer, Jahanzeb, Farhan, Irfan and two others, while the security agencies are yet to make public the arrests.
