UBL rout Islamabad in QAT

Islamabad - UBL routed Islamabad by seven wickets in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2016-16 fourth round Pool A match played here at Diamond Ground on Monday.

UBL achieved the 48-run target in 8.2 overs losing just three wickets. Sharjeel Khan made unbeaten 28. Shahzad Azam Rana took 2-29. Earlier, UBL resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 270-6 and were all out for 370 in 90.4 overs. With Hammad Azam’s 65, they managed to take hefty 95-run first innings lead. Sarmad Bhatti and Shahzad Azam Rana took 3 wickets each. Islamabad were bundled out for meager 142 in 44.3 overs in their second innings. Raheel Majeed scored 55. Mir Hamza clinched 6-49 and M Asghar 3-28.

In Pool B match at Pindi Stadium, Sarmad Hameed and Yasir Hameed provided Rawalpindi 181-run lead with 4 wickets still in hand as they finished the day three at 259-6 against PIA.

Sarmad slammed 100 runs while Yasir hammered 87. Anwar Ali and Aizaz Cheema took 2 wickets each. Earlier, Rawalpindi resumed their second innings at the overnight score of 32-0 and went onto score a relatively decent total.
