SAHIWAL-A man allegedly shot dead his daughter over filing a divorce case against her husband here in village Nathoo Fatyana on Tuesday. According to police, Sugran, daughter of Bashir Ahmad, resident of village Nathoo Fatyana, had come to her parents house after developing differences with her husband Abid. The woman filed a suit in the District and Sessions court, seeking divorce from her husband.

Bashir Ahmad, however, forced her to withdraw the case. Upon refusal, he allegedly shot her dead. The Bahadar Shah Police shifted the dead body to hospital for autopsy and arrested the accused after registration of a case against him.


Special judge Anti-Corruption Sahiwal, Jameel Ahmad Ch, awarded two years rigorous to revenue Patwari of Pakpattan Muhammad Mansha and fined him Rs50,000. The convict would have to undergo further six months in prison if fails to pay the fine. According to prosecution, six year ago, the accused Patwari tampered with official record in favour of a landlord. The Anti-Corruption Police Pakpattan registered a case and arrested the accused.
