KARACHI - Pakistan People’s Party has alleged that that the state institutions have set double standards for acting against PPP and those who arrested MPA do not have arrest warrants even though the court has rejected his bail plea.
“We respect the courts but such acts where the advisors and ministers are arrested in Sindh province are not witnessed in any other province in the country,” said Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah while addressing a press conference on Tuesday at PPP Media Cell along with PPP Sindh Secretary General Waqar Mehdi, Rashid Hussain Rabbani, Senator Aajiz Hussain Dhamrah and others.
He said that those who are leveling allegations of billions against Sharjeel Inam Memon are silent on the issue of advertisements from the federal government.
“Sharif family is also facing cases in NAB but neither their leader Captain (r) Safdar faced such treatment nor his name is placed on ECL but on the contrary the PPP leaders are forcefully arrested on airport strip even when they are voluntarily coming to face their cases.”
He said that Captain (r) Safdar was roaming in courts along with the protocol and it was dual standards from institutions that are being meted out with the PPP only.
He asked the chief justice Sindh High Court to take notice of the incident in the high court when Sharjeel Memon was arrested and said that it was the humiliation of a member provincial assembly.
He further warned PTI Chairman Imran Khan to refrain from using abusive language against PPP Women wing leader Faryal Talpur.
and said that they could also respond them in the same manner other than legal proceedings. However, he said that they would not respond in such harsh tune to Khan as their upbringing did happen like him.
“Imran Khan only considers himself pious and the remaining society as evil,” he said.
