Proclaimed offender held at BBIA

Rawalpindi - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended a proclaimed offender at Benazir Bhutto international Airport (BBIA) here on Tuesday. According to details, the personnel of FIA immigration department have detained a suspect Abdul Rehman, a resident of Swat who arrived at Benazir Bhutto Airport through an international airline CA/945 from China. The officials have claimed that the accused was wanted by the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Karachi Cell in several heinous criminal activities.  Subsequently, the suspect was handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency Karachi Cell for further investigation.

 

Meanwhile, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized huge quantity of ‘gutka’ here on Tuesday.

Director Operations PFA, Bilawal Abro said that the PFA team along with police raided Bajaur Plaza in Gunj Mandi locality of Rawalpindi. During operation, over 500,000 packets of gutka were recovered from a godown.

The Director Operations said that the recovered gutka was smuggled from other province and was supplied to other cities from Rawalpindi.

Bilawal Abro said that operation against ‘gutka’ will continue and under ‘Gutka Free Punjab Mission’ over 50,00,000 packets gutka has been recovered and disposed of.
